Beyond the Lab: Why BioH2 Tech was Named a JUMPSTARTER 2025 Global Top 30 Startup

The global transition to a hydrogen economy is no longer a theoretical debate—it is a race for scalable, efficient technology. This month, BioH2 Tech reached a significant milestone in that race. Out of thousands of applicants from around the world, BioH2 Tech was selected as a Global Top 30 Startup in the JUMPSTARTER 2025 Global Pitch Competition, initiated by the Alibaba Entrepreneurs Fund.


This recognition isn't just an award; it validates our mission to bridge the gap between world-class laboratory research and industrial-scale decarbonization.

 

Disrupting “Business as Usual” in Energy

What caught the judges' attention? It was our approach to the “hydrogen paradox.” Traditionally, producing green hydrogen from waste has been energy-intensive and expensive. Under the leadership of Professor Zhao Jun—ranked among the world’s top 2% of scientists—we have changed the fundamental chemistry of the process.

Our proprietary 180°C catalyst allows us to produce high-purity hydrogen at a fraction of the temperature required by conventional processes (700°C–1,200°C). This means 40% less energy consumption and a path to radical cost leadership.
